In the evening of June 1, collaboration committee members of the School of Economics, Zhejiang University and Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota held the first collaborative meeting online.

The meeting was hosted by Prof.Xiaoji LIN from Carlson School of Management, Prof. LIN is the Academic Director of Master of Finance Program at Carlson. Prof. Xiwei ZHU, who’s in charge of international relations at School of Economics first made the opening remarks, he introduced the current oversea partner portfolio of School of Economics and expressed the deepest joy of connecting with Carlson. Prof. Stephen T PARENTE, the Minnesota Insurance Industry Chair of Health Finance in Carlson School of Management and Associate Dean of the Global Institute then introduced Carlson’s concept and method of international talent cultivation.

Prof. Yanjian ZHU, Chair of Finance Department of School of Economics, and Prof. Tracy WANG, Chair of Finance Department of Carlson School of Management each introduced the department of finance at the respective school. For the last part, Prof. Yizhong WANG, the Vice Dean in charge of graduate studies at School of Economics commented on the previous speeches, he emphasized the importance of collaboration between two schools, hoping to build the joint master program between two schools more systematic and characteristic in the future.

The School of Economics of Zhejiang University and Carlson School of Management of University of Minnesota signed the collaboration agreement in 2022. The two schools intend to collaborate on multiple areas including joint master program, visiting PhD program and etc.
